Emily Parsons Blog 1864





Dear Mother,
From the first time I sent u a letter I was gonna inform you of everything during these past
few days have been frustrated and tense. First we all know when we go out there we never
know what's gonna happen,we were very anxious of losing at Chickamauga as this time it was a
celebration that we took a huge victory had a very settle plan. Won a compress over the Bragg rebel.
Then to let u know that we have control of  key of the southern city  that is something my group needs
as we stand together and fight as a nation. Something that I came to do is to fight and we are on step
closer on splitting the confederacy. And I almost forgot we might have found a new General to lead the
Union its hard cause we need someone that would lead us in good terms but the good news is that
Lincoln has found one from the day that i'm writing this Ulysses S.Grant is gonna command all armies.
Still we see so many ups and downs here its really interesting to see what is next to happen,now we
can see that some of the Democrats have choose that Lincoln and McClellan face each other as I
have been here I know both men and they have so much to bring and very different I don't know
whats gonna happen but I hope nothing goes wrong. Here I am still trying my best and always
standing up for the union so many more to happen I will stay in touch.

Letter Home-Parsons

    Dear Mother,     There so many things I would like to tell you.First there was so many reasons why I had to leave            home.I had to make a stand by what was right.I had to stand by a group of people that believed in          the same way I did.The past few days I had joined the union something I knew was the right thing to do there was people that had the same type of felling that I did about slavery.As of course you know I am a type of person that would do anything and everything to accomplish something.You don't even   know how many issues and conflicts theirs been about slavery.Over the Election of 1860 was one of   them of opposing sides of slavery it was one of the most impact presidential elections in American History.One of the main issues were about slavery and state rights.As I write about how history these days are I spent time thinking on what we do about it together as a union.I hope that I accomplish something but at the end I would want to change somet

Letter 1861-Parsons

Its that time again where we get a lost its sad to see us a Union together not get a victory.I continue looking and fighting for what I came for.I write this and think about what we could of done.It was sad to not see us,I look around at this instant moment and see how much we got in us. Our leaders are powerful  people that will lead us to do the impossible I am not gonna lie it was a discourage that we didn't win but know that theirs more to come . The battle of Bull run in 1861 was one of them as i write i express how it happen.We together as a union fight to the end we had the most people from the other side the Confederate troops moved north i guess you can say it wasn't the best idea.As we got back we were all had something to say we think about what we did wrong.
